Web mail client looking up a Address Book on DA.nsf

I am migrating mailboxes from one Domino server to another in the same Domino Domain.

Server A (Ver 8.5) is the old domino server.  Which has Directory Assistance (da.nsf) and is still adminp server.  Within da.nsf we are publishing 3 different Address Books.  1 for another domino domain Address Book and 2 different Department Address book.

All of the Address Books are running the Template StdR4PublicAddressBook V9.0.1.

Server B (V9.01) is the new server.

Migrated Notes clients (V8.5.1) to Server B can successfully view and use all of the Address Books.

However, when a user accesses there mailbox from a web interface on Server B and select to view the 4 Address Books, only the main and other domino domain server Address Books show there contents.

If I select the department address books it shows 'This view is likely being updated on the server.  It will display as soon as this update completes'.

There is no replica in place of the 3 address books da.nsf is using to Server B yet.

Thanks for any help.

Check the DB properties
Hi Paula.

Check if the option "Don't allow URL open" is checked on the database properties of this address book.

If yes, uncheck this option, logout from iNotes and then log back in.

Thank you for you advice.  This was checked and not selected.

I raised a call with IBM and they asked me to check that.

After a few more suggestions they think it may be this.........

The error you are seeing in the browser might have to do with old JVM/Java applets. Please update Java on the affected server and see if this helps. The below tech note provides more info:

Title:    Download re-signed Java applets for IBM Domino (January 2014)
Doc #:    1662233
URL:    http://www.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21662233

But taking the server offline to do this is out of hours and wont be applied quickly.

The problem was because the new server B was not specifically listed on the ACL of the extra address book.

Once that was added the web mail client could open the other address book.
